More monitors

So I got some extra money and decided to buy a Dell 2007FP monitor. Finally I got rid of the 19" CRT monstrosity.

Dark Messiah and Neverwinter Nights 2

I got myself Dark Messiah and Neverwinter Nights 2, so I've been M.I.A. from EverQuest lately while playing those new games ;)

So what are my first impressions?

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is in one word: Awesome!
The graphics are great, the effects on the weapons and spells are nice. The way you fight is not exactly new, but very well implemented, the moves are done very well. The storyline could use a bit of work, I think you're too locked into whether you're good or evil.

Neverwinter Nights I can't really say much about at this time, a few things I can say though. The controls are simply put horrific. The camera is annoying, not at all like you're used to in the original Neverwinter Nights. Also the story seems a bit too rigid, I mean when I create a Lawfull Evil Drow, I don't expect to have been raised by a goodly man (wizard? priest?).

APG succesfull in forcing ISP to block MP3 site..

Today APG got their injunction against Tele2 for blocking the Russian MP3 store AllOfMP3.com

Computerworld has an article which goes more in-depth of this case.
Addition: BetaNews.com article.
It's the Internet Service Provider, who has the responsibility for what the users are doing on the net - that's the courts decision in the case about the users access to the website Allofmp3.com, where the service provider Tele2 was up against the musicindustry IFPI.
I'm more and more glad that I live in Sweden now instead of Denmark. Apparently control of the internet should be privaticed, for that is what APG is, a private organisation. No one should control the internet in such a way, that tells people what they're should or should not browse.

Outer Space — No trespassing!

I wonder what the hell the US government is on now. Reading a few newsarticles (WLTX, openDemocracy) I found out that USA wants to control Outer Space?

If they're serious about this then I think it's about time for the rest of the world to put their collective foot down and say stop.

Korean clock lady…

Just found this audioclip in my collection and I still laugh my ass off when I listen to it. I'm not quite sure if it would qualify as safe for work ;-)

Books, books, books…

So I was looking for the latest book in The Wheel of Time series, "Knife of Dreams" by Robert Jordan, which I found, then I just happened to order a few books beside that while at it :)

The 3 books by Dan Brown I didn't own already: Angels and Demons, Digital Fortress and Deception Point.
Knife of Dreams by Robert Jordan.
The entire War of the Spider Queen series: Dissolution, Insurrection, Condemnation, Extinction, Annihilation and Resurrection.
The Year of the Rogue Dragons series: The Rage, The Rite and The Ruin by Richard Lee Byers.

Time for some reading again ;)

New apartment — Take three…

Finally back among the living, I got internet in my new apartment yesterday. Just Comhem because there's no "real" broadband (10/10 Mbit or higher) available in the building :-(

I'm considering buying the latest Expansion for EverQuest: The Serpent's Spine, but as usual the boxed version isn't readily available in the stores in Denmark or Sweden :-( and as always only the boxed versions recieve the in-game rewards. Anyway, funds are a bit low, so maybe I should wait a little longer ;)

New apartment — take two…

Almost there.. Next weekend I'm moving to my new apartment in Malmö. I'm really looking forward to get that part over and done with, I hate moving but who doesn't? All that packing and dragging and moving and then some more dragging and unpacking. As I said; I'm really looking forward to get that part over and done with.

Anyway, I went by the apartment today just to look it over without any furniture, and while I was at it I snapped a few pictures with my Motorola RAZR V3x mobile phone. I've uploaded those pictures to my Gallery section, also, here is a direct link to the pictures.

There are some things that I need to fix in the apartment though, when I get around to it, such as a new cooking canopy in the kitchen, and some new wallpaper to all the rooms. I wonder when I'll be getting around to having those things done :-P

Living your life… Backwards…

I want to live my next life backwards:
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in a nursing home,
  feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.
Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
Then when you start work,
you get a gold watch on your first day.

You work 40 years, until you're too young to work.
You get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and you're generally promiscuous.

Then you go to primary school,
   you become a kid,
   you play,
   and you have no responsibilities.
Then you become a baby, and then...

You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury,
   in spa-like conditions
   - central heating, room service on tap,
   and then...
You finish off as an orgasm.

Living life backwards, by George Carlin (or Sean Morey, or Woody Allen).

New apartment

Today I signed the papers to my new apartment in Malmö, Sweden.

The new 67m2 apartment is located in the area called "Kroksbäck" which is a decent area. I'll be taking over the apartment 1st. of September 2006.

APG trying to force ISP’s to block MP3 site..

I've just finished reading an article from APG (AntiPiratGruppen aka. The Anti Piracy Group) where they write (roughly translated):
The Danish Anti Piracy Group, who handles the music- and filmindustry interests in matters regarding illegal copying of copyrighted material, have today applied for an injunction against the ISP Tele2. This is done as part of APG's endeavour stop the illegal, russian website AllofMP3’s activities in Denmark.
They're surely growing balls, or are they?

New site

The new site uses WordPress as backend with my own theme (mostly inspired by PHP.net design) and some added/modified features.

Using a boxed blogging system ofcourse has both advantages and disadvantages, although the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
